Dear Orde,

Referring to your letter of 19th on the

subject of the Chinese Customs, agreement should not

the words suggested to be inserted in clause 12 d

come after "veasel" in the 4th line, not in the 1st

line.

Ctherwise & large vessel could apparently

import salt with impunity which I imagine is not

intended.
